Thanks for stopping by! God first gave me the idea of Women On God’s Mission in 2011. I pursued this ministry with my husband’s blessing, together agreeing that God, family, and real live people come first … which works out great, because WOGM isn’t just a blog – it is a way of living!
Up until this year I homeschooled our two sons. Thankfully, at a time of long-term illness, God provided for our boys to attend a Christian school. I’ve been focusing on getting better, ministering to my family, and reaching out to women in our town. It was difficult to let my boys go, but school has been good for them. It’s been wonderful to see them putting into practice what we’ve taught them, as well as seeing them learn to depend on God and obey Him while away from home.
We love our church and thank God for what He is doing there! My husband, who is an electrical engineer, serves as a deacon and leads music, while I play the piano and organ and help where I am able. Now that I am healing from Lyme disease, I anticipate being involved more. Exciting!
I prefer to interact with women instead of doing all the talking, so I spend more time in my Women On God’s Mission group on Facebook than here. If you are a follower of Jesus and are connected with a local body of believers, you are welcome to join our joyful group (more below).
As for my interests: I love studying my Bible, reading, writing, praying, keeping in touch with old and new friends, learning, doodling, laughing, creating beautiful and useful things for our home, teaching, speaking to one or one hundred about my wonderful Lord, organizing, neck rubs from my hubby, being outside and enjoying God’s creation, planning parties, red licorice, and watching good movies. I’m so blessed to have a man who loves God and two young men who are growing in God!
WOGM is here for three main reasons:
1. Glorify God – My purpose for living: GOD. I am far from perfect, but I seek to honor God in my private and public life. It’s pretty incredible that from my home computer I can lift up our wonderful God by sharing His Word, testimonials of what He is doing in my life (and in the lives of others), and even nourish our everyday lives with recipes and practical tips for wise daily living. These things give God praise!
“So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.”
I Corinthians 10:31 ESV
2. Personal Growth and Accountability – Growing in God becomes more real if I declare what He is teaching me. The closer I walk with God the stronger I can stand for truth in this world. Scripture is trustworthy and relevant for today! God is alive and well!
“Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”
3. Encourage the Body of Christ – There is so much yucky news out there, how about a place to regroup and recharge? Here you will find truth, joy, stability, beauty, comfort, resources, and inspiration. Basically it is a reminder that because of God we can live this life with joy and peace in our hearts (and on our faces)! You will especially like the “In Her Shoes” series. I’ve had amazing opportunities to interview women on God’s mission across the USA and around the world … this privileged peek into their lives helps us better understand how to serve with and edify others, while increasing our appreciation for our spiritual family.
“… and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near.”
Whenever WOGM or I come to mind, I hope you think of JESUS! May He be lifted up … because it’s all about Him. If you need encouragement and accountability, please check out our Women On God’s Mission group on Facebook. It is an oasis of faith and joy. (Simply send a request for approval, and I will push the button and zing, you’re in!) And if you don’t know my Jesus, yet, I would love to tell you about Him. God is faithful, through every change and every stage of life. I thank Him every day for walking with me on this adventure of eternity-in-view living.
